The Koloa Early School

An ‘Ohana Preschool for Our Kaua’i Keiki

Where Children Love to Learn!

We are dedicated to working in partnership with parents and community to make learning exciting, challenging, and enjoyable.

The Koloa Early School is a 501(c)(3) non-profit preschool. Realizing the huge need for preschool on the southshore, TKES was established in 1985 by a group of southshore families. In 1987 TKES moved to its current location, and was very fortunate to be able to purchase the property some years later.

TKES provides services for children between the ages of 2 years of age to 8 years of age. Our first year students are called Sunbeams, second year students are called Rainbows, are our third year students are called Junior Kindergartners.

We believe in the total approach to each child’s social-emotional development, physical development, and cognitive skills by integrating the arts and our rich cultural diversity into our curriculum. In addition, TKES follows HELDS, or Hawaii Early Learning Developmental Standards for assessments and in the creation and implementation of preschool curriculum.
